1981-82 Canucks


ANDY SCHLIEBENER

Andy was a third round draft pick in 1980 and spent parts of 3 seasons with the Canucks. He scored 2 career goals and was played 3 games in the 1982 Playoffs.

JIM NILL

Jim played 3 seasons with the Canucks and represented Canada in the 1980 Winter Olympics. He was traded to Boston for Peter McNab and ended his career in Detroit. He is currently Assistant GM for the Detroit Red Wings.

GARTH BUTCHER

Garth was a defensive anchor for the Canucks for 10 seasons. Nicknamed "Strangler" he was known throughout the league for his toughness. He was part of one of the key trades in team history when he and Dan Quinn were sent to St. Louis for Geoff Courtnall, Sergio Momesso, Cliff Ronning and Robert Dirk.
